177 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Moldova to date

Another 28 cases of infection with COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on March 26. These include four medical workers of the National Clinical Hospital, IPN reports.

After the meeting of the Single Command Center for managing the crisis caused by COVID-19, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that 25 of the 28 new cases of infection are of local transmission and three are of import.

A number of 25 patients treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă” are close to recovery. They do not have clinical signs of disease, but remain hospitalized so as to prevent them from infecting other persons.


The minister said that a contract for the provision of hospitals with a new consignment of medical supplies was signed today, March 26. Also, the doctors who have to cover a long distance up to home will be offered lodgings in Chisinau.

Two persons with COVID-19 have been cured in Moldova so far. An infected woman died.
