17 personalities from the field of culture awarded honorific titles

President Maia Sandu conferred the honorific titles “People’s Artist”, “Master of Arts” and “Emeritus Artist” on 17 personalities on the occasion of the Cultural Worker’s Day, IPN reports.

For long and prodigious work in culture, contribution to promoting the moral-spiritual values, success in the creation activity and high professional competence, the honorific title “People’s Artist” was awarded to actress of the National Theater “Luceafărul” Nina Doni, prima ballerina Anastasia Homitskaya, artistic manager of the ballet troupe of the National Opera House “Maria Bieșu”, folk music singers Elena Osoianu, Iulia Osoianu, Valentina Osoianu, Maria Osoianu-Bivol and Romela Osoianu Roșca.

The title of “Master of Arts” was conferred on painters Victor Cobzac, Anatoli Danilișen, Vladimir Palamarciuc and Mihail Statnyi, painter-graphic designer Alexandru Macovei, art critic and journalist Larisa Turea and actor Mihai Fusu.

The honorific title “Emeritus Artist” went to soloist-instrumentalist of the Organ Hall Ion Negura, circus artist Denis Velenciuc and prime conductor of the National Opera House “Maria Bieșu” Andriy Yurkevych.

According to President Sandu, culture remains the main ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, the one that goes beyond borders and brings hearts closer and this fact is confirmed by the name of the laureates whom she thanks for the beauty they create and for remaining faithful to the profession and vocation.

The national Cultural Worker’s Day is celebrated on May 16.
