The administrator of an online gaming hall faces 16 years in jail for illegal entrepreneurial activity, tax evasion and money laundering in considerable amounts. According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, the firm that manages the gaming hall will be liquidated, IPN reports.
On the pretext of providing electronic communications services through cable networks, an online gaming hall was set up in Botanica district of Chisinau. This worked illegally in the period between 2014 and 2017.
It was established that the employees of the firm received unofficial salaries, in the absence of mandatory accounting records. The gain used by the manager of the firm for business and personal interests.
As a result of the illegal activity, damage of almost 4.5 million lei was caused to the public budget.
