16% voter turnout at midday

More than 455,000 electors or over 16% of the eligible voters cast their ballots by noon, show the data provided by the Central Election Commission online, which are quoted by IPN.

The ratio of voting women to voting men is comparable – 51.84%:48.16%. The voters aged between 56 and 70 were the most active ones, representing 41.88%. These are followed by those aged between 41 and 55 with 23.51%, those aged between 26 and 40 with 17.05%, those aged 71 and up with 12.45% and those aged between 18 and 25 with almost 5.1%

The voter turnout in Chisinau at midday stood at over 91,600 voters.

The polls are open until 9pm. A minimum voter turnout of one third of the voters put on the register of voters is needed for the elections to be validated.
