The Ministry of the Interior on April 3 handed over by a Dacia Logan car to the Public Order Divisions of 15 district police commissariats. In the handover ceremony, Minister of the Interior Alexei Roibu said that the Ministry represents not only the head office and the Chisinau commissariats, but also all the police employees in districts, including the sector policemen who are permanently in contact with the people. The minister stressed that the district police officers need more equipment assistance and these cars will help them better do their jobs and faster deal with the people’s problems. “2012 was declared the year of the enhancement of the capacities of the Ministry’s divisions. That’s why these units of transport were directed to police commissariats and from there will be distributed to sector policemen working in Moldova’s villages,” said Alexei Roibu. A car costs €6 200. The money was allocated from the budget of the Ministry of the Interior.
