Starting 14 April, Moldovan pay in average 15% more for sending letters, postcards, as well as for other services provided, by the State Enterprise “Posta Moldovei” (ISPM). The new tariffs entered in force once with their publication in the last number of the Official Monitor.
ISPM director adviser Igor Midor reported that the tariff increase a was operated related to the need to adjust them to real expenses, related to transport services on country’s territory and abroad, editorial one etc.. Tariff modification was coordinated with the Ministry of Economics, according to provisions of the Calculation Methodology of costs and prices to services provided by ISPM, approved by government decision in December 2000.
Igor Midor mentioned that the mentioned methodology allows tariff adjustment, depending on costs increase, one a year. He also underlined that last time the Post Station of Moldova increased the tariffs in 2001, as it was possible the coverage of costs from services provided to foreign clients on Moldova’s territory. Now, Posta Moldova does not have this source anymore, as the volume of services provided to clients of the country gets over the one provided to foreign ones, he noted.
The new tariff for sending letters up to 20 grams is 0.6 lei, and for those of 1and 2 kg - 11 lei. The letters present and delivered in a locality of city type or in rural areas costs from 0.4 up to 6.6 lei, depending on weight. Sending simple postcards costs 0.45 lei. Sending newspapers, periodicals published within the country, books, booklets etc. costs as well depending on weight, from 0.5 lei up to 9.4 lei. Simple small packages up to100 grams will cost 1 leu, and those between 1 and 2 kg – 9.4 lei. Sending of a money mandate up to 500 lei will be taken out 4% of this amount, and for mandates getting over 500 lei it will be taken additionally1%.
