Some 15 hectares of dry vegetation and about 40 pieces of used tires burned in a fire on Tighina St in Causeni town. To extinguish the fire, 29 employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations intervened with six fire trucks and three auxiliary units, IPN reports.

In addition to firefighters and rescuers, forces and means were requested from the local public authorities to put out the fire. Local economic agents provided seven units of equipment.

Thanks to the prompt mobilization and intervention, the spread of flames to a number of houses, two gas stations and an auto parts store was avoided, said the Inspectorate.

The fire broke out in the afternoon of July 30, at 1:09 p.m., and at 5:41 p.m. it was extinguished. The fire engulfed dry vegetation around two gas stations and two construction shopping centers. Four firefighting sectors were created on the spot and the General Staff was constituted to manage and monitor the situation.
