A boy aged 14 from Butuceni village of Orhei district drowned in the Raut River in the evening of May 26. Rescuers took the body out after a three-hour search, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the rescuers from Orhei were called at about 7pm. The boy jumped into the water from a rock and didn’t come out. The body was found at about 10pm.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service urged caution when going swimming. Swimming is recommended only in known or specially laid-out places as there may be currents, holes and stones, which pose a real threat to life.
