1,334 persons cured of COVID-19

As many as 1,334 persons had been cured of COVID-19 by May 2. Sixty-two persons were discharged from the hospital on May 1, while 815 persons with mild forms of the disease receive treatment at home under the supervision of the family doctor. Of those who receive treatment at home, 87 are close to healing, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

By now, 3,980 infections with the novel coronavirus were confirmed in Moldova, 460 of which in the Transnistrian region. In 1,004 cases, the virus was contracted by healthcare workers.

As many as 248 patients of those infected are in a serious state and 27 persons were connected to mechanical ventilation.

The Ministry also informed about two new cases of death caused by COVID-19. The victims are a woman aged 69 from Cahul and a man aged 66 from Fălești. The death toll now stands at 124.
