A girl aged 13 from Tiraspol was struck and dragged by a train when she was posing for a photograph. She was rushed to the hospital, but doctors’ efforts to save her failed, IPN reports.
According to the website of the self-styled Transnistrian foreign ministry, the girl, together with her boyfriend of 14, wanted to take pictures on the background of a coming train. But the girl approached the railroad too much.
The train driver saw the teen from a distance of 30 meters and started to brake. But the train was travelling at 55 km per hour and couldn’t be stopped within such a short distance. The tragedy couldn’t be avoided.
The girl was hospitalized with open brain injury, concussion, internal fractures, broken ribs, pulmonary contusion and other injuries. She died in about three hours of the accident that happened in the evening of April 8.
