A boy aged 13 drowned in the Nisru River near Puhaceni village of Anenii Noi district. The boy was fishing and went into the water to place the net. His friend, who remained on the bank, could not see him and called the police, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, a team of frogmen had looked for the body for almost three hours. They found it about 100 meters from the bank.
The Service urges caution when swimming or fishing. Parents are strongly advised not to leave the children unsupervised.
