13 laureates at National Youth Awards Gala

Thirteen young people and organizations were awarded for their outstanding contributions to the development of the youth sector in the Republic of Moldova. The nomination was preceded by the competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Research, together with the National Youth Agency, to mark the achievements and impact of young talents on the community. The young people were awarded at the National Youth Awards Gala 2024, staged in connection with the National Youth Day, IPN reports.

"Next year, we will launch a financing program for youth centers and will approve a decision that will allow providing subsidies and grants. We will continue to support the youth because you are the future of this country," said Minister of Education Dan Perciun.

This year's winners include youth specialists and workers, local youth centers and councils, as well as young people who have distinguished themselves in various fields, from entrepreneurship, leadership and research to the promotion of youth rights and diaspora initiatives.



In the first category, there were nominated the:

Youth Specialist of the Year within local public authorities of the first and second levels, each given by 25,000 lei,

Youth Worker of the Year, received 25,000 lei,

Youth Center of the Year, won a prize of 30,000 lei,

Local Youth Council and School Student Council, won by 20,000 lei each,

Student Self-Government of the Year, awarded 20,000 lei.

The value of prizes was 145,000 lei.



The second category of awards was for "Youth Projects and Initiatives". A total of 120,000 lei was awarded for "Solidarity", "Social Innovation", "Promotion of Heritage" and "Promotion of Youth Rights".

The National Youth Award in individual categories was conferred on young people aged between 14 and 35, who carried out activities with a significant impact on the community and society.

The 20,000 lei award for "Start-up in entrepreneurship" went to young people who managed to start and develop businesses in the country.

For "Leadership", young people who demonstrated leadership skills and inspired other young people were awarded 20,000 lei.

The "Research and Innovation" category recognized the efforts of young people who contributed to the improvement of the quality of life through innovations and scientific research. "Diaspora at Home" awarded young people from the diaspora, who carried out projects with a social impact on communities, each prize having a value of 20,000 lei. Thus, the prizes for these categories totaled 80,000 lei.



The National Youth Award is offered for outstanding contribution to the development of the youth sector, for the implementation of projects and programs with a special impact on young people.
