13 important state-owned companies will be put up for privatization at an investment contest, based on individual projects, IPN reports, quoting a decision that is to be approved in the November 13 meeting of the Government.
The initial projects will be designed with the support of independent consultants who will be selected by the commission for holding commercial and investment contests. The contracts with them will be signed by the Public Property Agency by February 19, 2014.
The list includes SA Moldtelecom, Barza Alba, Aroma, CTC Tutun, the thermoelectric enterprises RED-Nord and RED-Nord Vest, the Balti Thermoelectric Plant, the Chisinau Glass Factory, SA Glass Container Company, the Circus and Air Moldova. The companies will be privatized in eight lots.
The consultants will receive fixed remuneration from the Public Property Agency from the money provided for preparing the companies for privatization. If the companies are privatized, the consultants will also receive an honorarium of 2% of the transaction’s value.
The Ministry of Economy is to present the bill with the names of the consultants by April 2 next year.
