A number of 126 enterprises of the about 150 that applied to compete in the Trademark of the Year 2020 contest and the Quality Award contest were awarded in the most important national business event – Moldovan  Business Gala. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Moldova in partnership with the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), IPN reports.

In the ceremony, CCI chairman Sergiu Harea said the awards conferred this year confirm the courage, perseverance and wish of companies to distinguish themselves at national level and to achieve results in the promotion of the brand name and in quality management. “All the winners who are present here today are a clear proof of the fact that each company and brand needs promotion and that all the taken actions are not useless and contribute directly to the development of the national business community,” stated Sergiu Harea.

AGEPI director general Viorel Iustin said the business entities show an increased interest in the “Trademarked of the Year” that became a real platform for promoting and recognizing the most successful brands on the national market. “We assure the participants in the contest and all the representatives of the business community of the plenary support of the AGEPI in the process of registering and protecting the intellectual property in the country and abroad,” stated Viorel Iustin.

In the event, acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi transmitted a message of appreciation to the entrepreneurs and the representatives of the business community. “The Year 2020 was a difficult one. The pandemic affected a lot the national economy. Even so, most of you managed to keep the jobs, to continue work in challenging conditions, to maintain the sustainability of the budget of the Republic of Moldova by your financial effort. Only due to you, the Republic of Moldova is able to honor its financial obligations to the citizens, healthcare, education and other very important sectors for the country,” stated the official.

Compared with the previous editions, given the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event involved a limited number of invitees.
