Not all the inhabitants of Chisinau have yet water hot. The dwellers of 125 apartment buildings located in Ciocana district will be deprived of this service during over two weeks. The supplier, which this year abandoned the practice of halting the centralized hot water supply during a month, announced that Ciocana district will remain disconnected from the supply of hot water owing to important works that are designed to improve the quality of the provided service, IPN reports.

SA Termoelectrica director general Veaceslav Eni told a news conference that a series of unprecedented works will be performed at the thermoelectric plant Source I between July 10 and September 15. These will enable to perform a series of unprecedented works that will allow supplying the capital city with hot water nonstop. In the period, works will also be executed to modernize the line that connects the Thermoelectric Plant Vest and the common thermoelectric circuit. The given works form part of a project financed by the World Bank and envision the capital repair of two heat pipe segments of about 4 km.

By the end of July, until works are performed on Source I, the consumers will be supplied with hot water by the Thermoelectric Plant Vest. A number of 125 apartment buildings in Ciocana district could not be reconnected. These are situated on the streets Alecu Russo, M. Sadoveanu, Mircea cel Bătran, Igor Vieru, Ion Dumeniuc, Ginta Latina, Nicolae Milescu Spataru, and Petru Zadnipru.

Termoelectrica annually supplies about 20% of the total electricity consumed in Moldova and provides heat to over 7,000 apartment buildings from the municipality of Chisinau and the suburbs.
