A man from Ungheni district who in summer beat to death his son aged 11 was sentenced to 12 years behind bars, IPN reports.
According to the Ungheni Prosecutor’s Office, in August the man, being under the influence of alcohol, hit his son in the abdomen for several times for the reason that the boy didn’t take care of the calf. The man left the boy to lie in the bed and didn’t call a doctor. In two days the child died owing to his serious injuries.
The 36-year-old man was also investigated for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The man got 12 years and three months and was banned from driving for a period of three years.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
