12 persons apply for BCC membership

Twelve candidates have submitted their applications to the Parliament's Commission on Culture and Media in a bid to fill the three vacant posts of members of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC), Info-Prim Neo reports. The following candidates submitted applications: historian Iurie Colesnic, recommended by the Writers Union; Olga Barbalata, lecturer at the Moldova State University; Lucia Popescu, editor-in-chief at the news agency “Basa–press”; Cristina Mitu, spokesperson for the Department of Penitentiaries; Vasile Chirilescu, senior specialist at the Chisinau City Hall's Public Relations Department; Alexandru Grosu, general director of the “Chisinau” Hotel; Sergei Ryazantsev, director of IT QAS International; Andrei Luchianciuc, head of TeleRadio's International Relations Service; Iurie Badicu, director of the NGO National Copyright Office; Victoria Musteata, PR, Sponsorship & CSR manager at Orange Moldova; Alexandru Popovici, CEO of Media Forest Moldova; and Dumitru Florea, Finance Department head at the Customs Service. The candidates will be selected by the Commission on November 7 and then submitted to Parliament for confirmation. The new members will be appointed for a term of 6 years. The posts fell vacant after the terms in office of Gheorghe Gorincioi, Corneliu Mihalache and Ludmila Vasilache expired.
