The Swiss-born Moldovan athlete Urs Imbonden obtained his first points this season at the Alpine Ski World Cup. He finished 11th in the slalom competition, which took place on Sunday, January 9, in Adelboden, Switzerland.
His overall time was of 1 minute 53 seconds and 16 hundredths. Imbonden turned 36 on January 7 and his result is a present he truly deserved.
The skier is ranked 78th with 24 points in World Cup overall standings and 32nd in slalom tables.
It seems Adelboden is Imbonden’s favorite track. Last year, he finished 7th, which remains Moldova’s best ever result at the World Cup.
In February, he will represent Moldova at the World Championship in Germany.
