A girl aged 11 drowned in the Nistru River in Caragaș village of Slobozia district. She went swimming together with her family on July 17 and didn’t get out of the water. Her body was found today, July 19, IPN reports.
The de facto ministry of the interior of the Transnistrian region said the 11-year-old girl and other children entered the water unsupervised while the parents were picnicking not far from the bank.
Eyewitnesses said a boat passed by while the children were in the water. The girl was covered by waves and didn’t come out. Relatives and frogmen looked for the body and found it this morning not far from the place where the girl went into the water.
