A girl aged 11 from Susleni village of Orhei district was struck by lightning during the rain that fell in the evening of June 13. She was rushed to the Orhei District Hospital, IPN has learned from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
Rescuers recommend avoiding being in the open air during precipitation accompanies by thunder and lightning. If caught in the rain, one should disconnect the mobile phone and not stay under trees.
Yesterday’s torrential rain covered in mud a 200-meter portion of the R-34 Cahul road, at the border with Romania.
