100% of ballots counted: Maia Sandu – 36.16%, Igor Dodon – 32.61%

With 100% of the ballots cast in the country (2,143 vote reports) counted, the results are as follows: the PAS candidate Maia Sandu gained 36.16% of the vote, while independent candidate Igor Dodon, who is supported by the Party of Socialists, won 32.61% of the vote, IPN reports, quoting the preliminary data of the CEC.

The Our Party’s candidate Renato Usatyi gained 16.9% of the poll, the Shor Party’s candidate Violeta Ivanov – 6.49%, the PPPDA candidate Andrei Năstase – 3.26%, the PUN candidate Octavian Țîcu – almost 2.01%, the PLDM candidate Tudor Deliu – 1.37%, the UNION Electoral Bloc’s candidate Dorin Chirtoacă – 1.2%.

After processing all the 139 vote reports of the out-of-country polling stations, Maia Sandu is shown to be the leader with 70.12% of the poll, being followed by Renato Usatyi with 17.25%. Igor Dodon ranks third with 3.65 of the ballot%, being followed by Andrei Năstase – 3.59%, Octavian Țîcu – 2.09%, Dorin Chirtoacă – 1.72%, Violeta Ivanov – 1.11% and Tudor Deliu – 0.47%.

Under the Election Code, if none of the candidates for President gains at least half of the voters of those who cast their ballots, a runoff vote is held for the first two candidates with the largest scores in the first round of voting in two weeks.
