The national medical centers will get 100 new vehicles. Forty-six of them set off on February 16 from the Great National Assembly Square, where the handover ceremony took place, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The vehicles were bought with money from the budget of the National Health Insurance Company. A car costs €113,000 lei. They will be used to get to patients, vaccinate the children, examine the pregnant women and for other medical services in rural areas.
In the ceremony, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the outfitting of the medical institutions with equipment and creation of good working conditions for family doctors represent priorities for the authorities, while the purchase of the vehicles is only one of the planned measures aimed at bringing the medical services closer to the people. He got onto one of the cars and said that it was very comfortable.
Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi said an information system will be implemented in 2012 at all the family doctors’ centers, which will be equipped with modern computers. There will be bought 60 pieces of ultrasound apparatus and 27 ambulances and created seven biochemical examination laboratories. The financing represents the financial resources of the beneficiary institutions and the development funds of the
National Health Insurance Company.
The Chevrolet Aveo cars consume five liters in mixed regime and seven liters in urban regime. They have a capacity of 84 horsepower. They were bought with summer tires, but have winter tires in reserve.
