The Romanian authorities are considering the possibility of modernizing and extending the book stocks of 100 libraries in Moldova and of promoting common projects for the diaspora, Minister for Romanians Abroad Natalia-Elena Intotero stated in a meeting with Prime Minister Pavel Filip.

The two officials discussed the close bilateral relations and joint projects between Moldova and Romania. The Premier said the meeting took place in a symbolic meeting, when we all celebrate Martsishor and the coming of spring. Following joint efforts, the Martsishor was added to the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the whole world, including the search engine Google, now knows about this national spring amulet, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

The Prime Minister thanked Romania for the constantly offered support, noting the roadmap for continuing the cooperation in accordance with the agreements reached at the last joint meeting of the governments of Romania and Moldova was already drafted and is to be submitted to the Romanian side. “Until now our relations were based rather on emotions, but now we have a pragmatic approach. We wanted serious Romanian investors and we have them: Banca Transilvania and Transgaz. In concert, we develop infrastructure, natural gas, power, communications and transport projects. We must ensure a union by deeds, through infrastructure, so that no one can ever divide us,” stated Pavel Filip.

It was underlined the opportunity of developing a transfrontier project to build European gauge railroad on the Chisinau-Iasi route and of launching a Chisinau-Bucharest high-speed train route.

Currently, the two countries are making common efforts to have the national peasant’s blouse included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

“The Republic of Moldova is for us more than a country included in the Strategic Partnership. We are not only partners, but also friends,” stated Natalia-Elena Intotero.
