The Government of Moldova realizes the challenges of time and thus pledged to combat state abuses against the business community. Miracles cannot be worked yet during 100 days, but some incorrect things can be put right, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said when presenting the Cabinet’s progress report for the first 100 days in office, IPN reports.
The Premier noted that 545 documents were adopted in the period. Of these, 74 refer to the implementation of the Moldova – EU Association Agreement, 28 of which were overdue. The Government is determined to implement all the overdue measures so as to put the accord into practice.
Pavel Filip said the people must feel the effects of the Government’s work. Therefore, a number of actions were taken in the period to cut the electric power and natural gas tariffs. The pensions and other social benefits were increased by 10%. They aim to create more jobs and to make sure that the decent work is paid decently. The salaries of medical personnel will rise by 20% from July 1 and the necessary budget resources were already identified.
A program to persuade the Moldovans who are abroad to return home was launched. In the short term, they are testing a project to offer grants to the Moldovans who return and work at home.
Pavel Filip said the Government committed itself to eliminate the state abuses in relation to business entities. In this respect, a moratorium on state inspections at companies was instituted, while the number of authorizing documents was reduced.
The objectives agreed with the European partners were fully achieved. This way, the country’s European commitment was confirmed.
The Prime Minister stated that the people are tired of scandals and politicians who work to gain political advantages based on the people’s needs and make populist statements. That’s why he focuses more on accomplishments and less on participation in TV programs and giving of interviews.
