10-year-old injured in road accident

A 10-year-old girl from Chisinau was hospitalised on Wednesday with traumas suffered in a road accident. According to Chisinau Road Security Inspector Ion Roscovanu, at 14.00 at the crossroad of Drumul Bacioiului and Negru Voda Streets, an Opel-Astra, driven by a man, 24, hit a girl, 10, a third-grader at the School no. 57. The victim was hospitalised at “Valentin Ignatenco” hospital with spinal concussion in the lumbar region. Roscovanu says that although the traffic was monitored by tens of road inspectors, 235 drivers managed to break the traffic rules and received fines. Of them, 7 were found intoxicated and 39 ignored the stop-light. The Chisinau Road Police registered 17 road accidents, in which two persons were injured.
