10% of state officials’ salaries are paid by Chisinau City Hall, Dorin Chirtoaca

10% of state functionaries’ salaries are paid with money from the budget of Chisinau municipality, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said on April 17, when presenting a report on the work done in 2007-2011, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Chisinau City Hall not only cooperates with the Government, Parliament and the Presidential Office, but also finances them by transferring about 1.3 billion lei a year to the state budget,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. He specified that this sum is intended for services that should be financed by the state. The mayor said that during four years they achieved results even if the municipal budget has decreased, the work of the City Hall was blocked, and the debts accumulated until 2007 were to be repaid. Dorin Chirtoaca was elected mayor of Chisinau in the summer of 2007.
