10 of 11 cases of murder committed in Chisinau solved

The police identified the authors of 10 of the 11 cases of murder committed in Chisinau in the first half of this year. The assassin of businessman Igor Basarab, who headed the company “Basarab-Vin” and was killed on January 21, remains at large. The information was presented at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall by the municipal police chief Silviu Musuc, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Musuc, the number of offences remained practically at the same level as the previous years, with the police solving a large number of the committed crimes. All the suspects in 23 cases of causing of serious bodily injury and in 22 of 23 cases of robbery were discovered. Twenty-nine units of transport were stolen in Moldova over January-June this year. Nineteen of them were found and returned to the owners. Silviu Musuc stressed the criminal situation in the municipality of Chisinau is stable.
