Unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea put forward ten conditions for taking part in the presidential elections. He said he will expect answers from the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration today and tomorrow, December 16, until the special sitting of Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I will vote for the alliance’s candidate for the presidency if the components of the AEI pledge to take these measures in the set terms,” Mihai Godea said in a press briefing. The first condition is to devise a plan to demonopolize the main economic spheres, which will include clear methods for encouraging the investors to enter the market segments under monopoly. The deadline is June 1, 2012. The second condition is to guarantee by law a minimum standard of living for the Moldovan people. A bill to this effect is to be drafted within half a year. Among the other conditions are to ensure the predictability and stability of the fiscal legislation, approve the fiscal and customs policies for at least three years, not allow unexpected changes that affect the rights of the entrepreneurs and other taxpayers, ensure the demonopolization of the energy market and the connection to the European natural gas and electric power infrastructure, in accordance with the 2nd and 3rd Packages of the Energy Treaty with the EU, sign a document whereby all the components of the AEI will guarantee that this strategic objective will be achieved by May 1, 2012. Mihai Godea also demands guaranteeing by law that the remittances from the Moldovans working abroad will not be taxed, demilitarizing and depoliticizing the Ministry of the Interior, the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Security and Information Service by January 1, 2013, creating a ministry for the diaspora that will protect the Moldovans who are abroad and will officially integrate those who come back. Another condition is to implement the national strategy for reintegrating the Moldovans who returned home from abroad. The Transnistrian dispute is also in the list of conditions. Mihai Godea asks keeping the unity of the state and making a commitment to this effect. The presidential elections will take place on December 16. The head of state is elected by at least 61 votes. The AEI has 58 seats. The legislature also includes unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea and three lawmakers of the Group of Socialists - Igor Dodon, Zinaida Grecianyi and Veronica Abramchuk.
