President Nicolae Timofti named eight ambassadors of Moldova by presidential decrees on February 3, IPN reports, quoting the presidential press service.
Vasile Bumacov was appointed as Ambassador to Japan, Iurie Renita as Ambassador to Belgium, while Dumitru Socolan as Ambassador to Portugal. Stefan Gorda was named Ambassador to Bulgaria, Vitalie Rusu will serve in the Czech Republic, while Inga Ionesii in Estonia. Oleg Tulea will represent Moldova in Hungary, while Gheorghe Leuca in Azerbaijan.
Before signing the decrees, the head of state had a meeting with the nominated candidates where he discussed aspects of Moldova’s foreign policy and the situation in the extended Black Sea region with them.
