Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said that problems started to appear in the attraction of business entities to procurement processes. Problems are also encountered in the implementation of current contracts that can no longer be executed because of the high prices and inflation. At the beginning of the March 23 meeting of the Cabinet, Natalia Gavrilița said this situation can affect primarily the large investment programs, such as road building. She instructed officials of the Ministry of Finance to analyze the situation and, if necessary, to hold public consultations and to then propose policy options for overcoming the situation, IPN reports.
“It is also in the interests of the state and of business entities to follow the existing programs and to make sure that the economy is vibrant, advances and all the public works are performed, while the resources we have are absorbed and invested. That’s why I ask you to see how we can solve this problem,” stated the Premier.
Natalia Gavrilița also said that owing to the war in Ukraine, the prices increase continuously and all the energy efficiency programs should be accelerated. The public institutions are the first that need to economize. It should be considered whether to extend the heating season after April 1 or not.
