Employees of the National Investigations Inspectorate identified a man who was illegally selling diesel fuel to taxi and minibus drivers, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the 53-year-old man is from Vatra town of Chisinau municipality. As a result of a search, the police found two tonnes of diesel fuel without documents of origin at his place. They confiscated draft bookkeeping documents on the sold quantities of diesel fuel and other doubtful documents.
The police established that the man had brought fuel from the Transnistrian region during about 10 years. In the period he was several times fined.
The man stored the fuel in a tank at home and sold it for 16 lei per liter to reliable persons. 80% of the diesel fuel was sold to taxi and minibus drivers from Chisinau.
The man is investigated within two criminal cases and faces a fine of 60,000 lei and five to ten years’ imprisonment.
