Poland will act as a promoter of Moldova's integration into the EU, with the U.S. being an ally of Moldova in this process, Speaker and Acting President Marian Lupu said in a press briefing centering on the results of his visit to Poland, Info-Prim Neo reports. Marian Lupu said that the Senate of Poland passed the Polish Parliament's draft decision on the institution of the Moldovan-Polish Interparliamentary Assembly. “It is a very important step towards supporting Moldova's European integration efforts,” said the acting head of state. According to him, the Parliament of Moldova will also adopt such a decision and will formulate the common work regulations. Marian Lupu said that Poland will also plead for providing assistance to Moldova in the negations on the Association Agreement. He informed that in Warsaw he had a number of meetings with heads of state, including the U.S. President Barack Obama. Moldova's message focused on the European integration process and the steps taken to come closer to the EU. “The most important message that we received was the United States' call to the EU to leave the door open for the next enlargement stages,” said Marian Lupu. Moldova's Acting President took part in the 17th Summit of Presidents of Central and East European Countries that was held in Warsaw on May 27-28.
