Petrocub has consolidated its third position in the National Division ranking. The team coached by Lilian Popescu defeated Speranța, 3-1, as guest, and distanced itself by seven points from Milsami, which ranked 4th, IPN reports.
Dan Taras opened the scoring in the 16th minute, following a home team captain’s blunder. Stefan Efros also caused the penalty from which Vladimir Ambros scored the fourth goal of the season. Speranta benefited from penalty as well, but Constantin Sandu could not defeat Cristian Avram. Defender Victor Mudrac scored 4 goals too, leading to 3-0 in the 80th minute. The final score was set at the last minute by Speranța's goal-getter Maxim Iurcu.
Sfantul Gheorghe kept its three-point lead against Petrocub after the victory in the match with Zimbru, 1-0. The only goal was scored by the Ukrainian Mazur, in the 80th minute. “It was a difficult match. We played poorly in the first half. In the second half we played better and managed to score an important goal”, said Sfânul Gheorghe’s coach Serghei Cebotari at a press conference.
Sfânul Gheorghe is 14 points behind the Sheriff leader, who defeated with 2-0 the newly promoted Codru Lozova. The goals of the Tiraspol players were scored in the second half, by Iurii Kendîș and Benjamin Balima.
In Ternovca, Dinamo-Auto defeated Milsami, 1-0. The only goal was scored by Andrei Macrițchii in the 12th minute.
A 2-week break intervened in the National Division due to matches of the Moldovan national team in the preliminaries for Euro 2020 with Iceland and Turkey.
