Personal Data Protection Center has a new director

Parliament named Eduard Raducan, who has served on the Central Election Commission (CEC) since 2011, as director of the Personal Data Protection Center, IPN reports.

Democratic MP Raisa Apolschii, who heads the parliamentary commission on appointments and immunities, said that the current director of the Center Vitalie Panis tendered his resignation. The post will fall vacant on April 13, but now Vitalie Panis is on sick leave.

Answering MPs’ questions, Eduard Raducan, who was the only proposed candidate, said that he has been a member of the CEC since 2011, while in 2012 – 2014 he served as assistant to MP Sergiu Sarbu.

The term in office of the director of the Personal Data Protection Center is five years.
