Four radio stations of Chisinau were warned publicly by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) for not ensuring the required volume of national productions, IPN reports.
According to the BCC chairman Marian Pocaznoi, the channels that didn’t comply with the new provisions concerning the volume of national music will continue to be monitored. “We are yet glad that most of the radio stations obey this norm in their broadcast schedule,” he stated.
There were monitored 11 radio stations. Radio Vocea Basarabiei didn’t respect the norm only during one day. But it remedied the situation the next day and wasn’t thus penalized.
Under the BCC decision of April 2013, the national productions in the musical program services of the radio stations and TV channels must represent at least 30% of the broadcast volume. At least half of these programs must be broadcast in prime time, in the official language.
