PCRM asks Constitutional Court to set exact term for electing head of state
Communist lawmaker Sergiu Sarbu on the afternoon of September 23 filed an application on behalf of the PCRM to the Constitutional Court, whereby he asked immediately reviewing the Court’s decision of February 8, 2011 concerning the term for organizing the presidential elections in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
This February, the Constitutional Court decided that it is the Parliament that must set the day of presidential elections within a reasonable timeframe, but did not specify this timeframe. Now the Communist lawmakers ask the Court to review its decision and lay down an exact term.
Sergiu Sarbu has told Info-Prim Neo that the given decision must be revised because there appeared new circumstances, including the fact that the legislative body intentionally postpones its implementation.
