Parliament Building to be lit in colors of Lithuania’s flag

The Building of Moldova’s Parliament wil be lit in the colors of the flag of Lithuania - yellow, green and red - on February 16, between 6pm and 10pm, in sign of solidarity with Lithuania, which celebrates the 100th anniversary of the obtaining of independence, IPN has learned from the legislature’s press service.

“We approve of the fact that Parliament accepted the invitation to light the legislature’s building in the colors of the flag of Lithuania so as to show solidarity with the Lithuanian nation. The flag is the most important national symbol that is representative for the centenary. It unites the whole Lithuanian nation,” said the Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Rimantas Latakas.

In 1990, the Republic of Moldova was the first state that recognized the independence of Lithuania.
