During the first hour of the opening of the polling places, more than 40,000 people have cast their ballots. The information was presented by the Central Election Commission (CEC), IPN reports.
CEC president Iurie Ciocan told the journalists that the polling places were opened without incidents. Several settlements experienced power outages and the computes could not be turned on, but the voting process wasn’t disrupted.
In some of the polling places from abroad, the people began to vote, while in others voting will start according to the local hour.
As many as 2,073 polling places were established for the parliamentary elections. The voter rolls include 2 555 804 people eligible to vote. The polling places close at 9am.
