More than 34,000 children will go to the first grade on September 1 this year. Traditionally, they will receive by a spelling book, which is the first school textbook, as a gift. In the 2014-2015 school year, the education process will involve about 353,000 students in 1,374 pre-university education institutions, IPN reports.

About 600 young specialists will teach at the national schools. As the previous years, the young teachers from rural areas will benefit from lump sum payments. The about 500 vacancies will be filled by teachers holding several posts, which is they will teach several subjects.

There will be 22 textbook titles for primary, secondary and high school education, including two new titles that were printed for the first time. Eleven textbook titles were translated into Russian.

The first-nine graders and the students from socially vulnerable families as well as the fifth-twelfth graders of the schools from Transnistria and the municipality of Balti, which are administered by the Ministry of Education, will be fed free of charge.
