Over $ 314 million have been transferred from abroad in the third quarter

In the third quarter of this year, the volume of bank transfers from abroad in favor of individuals from the Republic of Moldova accounted for $ 314.71 million, recalculated in dollars. 83.1% of the transfers were made through money remittance systems, without opening bank accounts, IPN reports.

According to the data of the National Bank of Moldova, the value of transfers decreased by 0.2% compared to the third quarter of last year, when it amounted to $315.46 million. Eliminating the exchange rate effect by recalculating the amounts at the exchange rate of the respective period of the previous year, the real increase in transfers constituted 2.2%.

As to geographical origin, transfers from the EU have a share of 46.3%, increasing by 5.4 percentage points compared to the third quarter of 2018. While the share of transfers from the CIS is of 22.9%, decreasing by 6.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Transfers from other countries made up 30.8%, compared to 30.1% in the third quarter of 2018.

The share of transfers from Israel and the US constituted 84.3% of the other states’ total.

As for the EU transfers, Italian transfers have the highest share (25.9%), followed by transfers from Germany (17.5%), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (14.4%), France (11.3%), Romania (3.5%) etc.

Transfers from Russia represent 94.9% of total CIS transfers.
