An Orthodox initiative group, alongside the Bishop of Balti and Falesti Marchel, calls on the Christians to come to the central square of Chisinau on May 17 to protest against the events planned to be staged by the LGBT community. Member of the group said the demonstrations set for May 17 run counter to the moral values, while the authorities should take measures to prevent the things promoted by this community from being made public, especially in the presence of young people and children.
In a news conference at IPN on May 13, Bishop Marchel said the sinful ones want to show their shamelessness in the heart of the country so as to propagate debauchery that kills souls. “It seems that it became a tradition for the authorities of our country to show indifference and leave the fate of the ordinary people, the Christians, in the hands of the members of the LGBT community, namely lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals. This is a shame, dear people! I ascertain once again that we do not have authorities in our country as nothing is done to ensure morality, which is the foundation of peaceful coexistence,” he stated.
He also said that they struggle not against the sinful ones, but against the sin. “I call on all the people of good faith to come to the center of Chisinau this Sunday to show their disagreement and opposition to those who propagate the homosexual six because it destroys souls. I call upon the people to protest as they can, but in a legal way, and to be precautious as somebody wants to become a victim, others want to provoke the people so as to show us all as being intolerant,” said the Bishop.
Attending the conference, former minister of security Anatol Plugaru said the people, hearing about the activities planned by the LGBT community, express their dissatisfaction and concern about this. “We call on everyone to be very attentive and avoid provocations as making a victim of themselves is one of the main methods used by this minority. They do their utmost to make a victim of themselves, but nobody needs them actually and the people are indifferent to what these do in their bedrooms. This is the dominant opinion of society, but they continue to defy our morality,” he stated.
The protest against the events planned by the LGBT community will be mounted in the square before the Monument to Stephan the Great.
