Not all flights have been resumed yet

The Chisinau International Airport does not provide flights to all the destinations yet, even if the Moldovan airspace was fully reopened on April 20 in the morning. This is because the airspace of some countries is still closed, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the air traffic control authority MoldATSA. In this connection, MoldATSA asks the passengers to contact the airline and obtain information about their flight before going to the airport. Relevant information is also available on the airport's website www.aeroport.md. Planes from Moscow, Istanbul, Vienna and Timisoara landed on the airport on April 20 in the afternoon. But the flights from Budapest, Riga and Frankfurt were canceled. The European air traffic continues to be disrupted by the volcanic ash cloud coming from southern Iceland. Half of the ordinary flights have been resumed, but the meteorology services announce a new ash wave that is expected to reach Romania soon. The Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland continues to erupt. Of Iceland's eight volcanic eruptions in the last 40 years, only the recent one at Eyjafjallajokull was followed by winds blowing southeast toward northern Europe.
