As many as 128 children who won awards at school Olympiads and different national and international contests and are members of the National Student Council will rest at the summer camp in Romania’s Sulina of Tulcea County between June 22 and July 7. The children will vacation there in two rounds within the ARC Program, implemented by the Policy Department for Relations with Romanians Abroad, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Education, another 260 students from the eight Moldovan-administered schools in Transnistria and in Bender town will rest at the camp “Friendship” in Cosnita village of Dubasari district during July 1-11.
Eighty children from residential institutions will rest at the medical summer camp Swisscor, situated in Fiesch municipality of the Swiss canton Valais on July 14–28.
Following talks held by the working groups on education from both banks of the Nistru River, concerning the organization of the vacation in summer camps on reciprocity principles, it was agreed that 100 tickets to a camp in Vadul lui Voda town will be offered to Transnistrian children, for the period between July 14 and July 23. The project has been implemented for three consecutive years.
On August 1-14, based on an interministerial cooperation agreement, 50 children will go to rest in the Bulgarian village Yastrebino. Based on the protocol of cooperation between the Ministries of Education of Moldova and Romania, 100 children from Romania will rest at a camp in Vadul lui Voda on August 4-13.
There are over 70 summer camps working in Moldova now.
