The situation concerning the liberalization of the visa regime is rather favorable. There are chances for Moldova to obtain a positive answer on the visa regime at the Vilnius Summit, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said in a TV program, IPN reports.

“What we should do is to focus our attention on the problems. We will continue to work. Next Wednesday, I will meet with the administration of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The European Parliament is the next institution to decide on the liberalization of the visa regime. Considerable work is done in this respect,” said the Premier.

On October 18, Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean will meet with EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmstrom, who is responsible for the proposal for the liberalization of the visa regime for Moldova.

Earlier this week, a mission of European experts came to Chisinau to assess the implementation by Moldova of the second phase of the Visa Liberalization Plan of Action.
