Minors banned from appearing in ads for unhealthy food and drinks

The juveniles will not be able to appear in videos promoting food products that are not recommended for children and school students. A bill to this effect was approved by the executive, IPN reports.

The bill is a legislative initiative put forward by lawmakers and includes amendments to a number of legal acts.

The Law on Food Products will be supplemented with a new paragraph saying that the food products, soft drinks and energizers that are not recommended for children and school students cannot be sold to persons under 18.

The article banning the sale and distribution of unhealthy products to children and school students within 100 meters of education institutions will be excluded as it will be unnecessary, given that the sale of these products to persons under 18 is prohibited.

Awareness-raising campaigns for parents and children will be launched though the mass media and school programs to inform them about the advantages of healthy food and the negative effects of unhealthy eating.
