Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi was confirmed with a mild form of infection with COVID-19. The minister will continue to fulfill his duties remotely, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry’s press service.

“I do not need hospitalization and I’m now quarantining at home, my state of health being satisfactory,” informed Aureliu Ciocoi.

According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health, the cases of COVID-19 in Moldova total 141,355.  As many as 3,210 persons confirmed with COVID-19 are in hospitals and 256 of them are in a serious state. A total of 127,404 persons got cured.

The death toll from COVID-19 stands at 2,891. Among the eight persons who succumbed to the infection on December 27 is a man aged 40 from Drochia district.
