Mihai Ghimpu: I said that percentage is less important for me

The Liberal Party’s candidate for President Mihai Ghimpu said that in the election campaign he already declared that the number of votes he will poll in elections is less important for him. Instead, after this campaign, the citizens of Moldova will speak about his project – the union with Romania.

“For the first time, the citizens are able to analyze an alternative to the project we have had since 1991. I’m sure that starting with this year the people will convince themselves that the current project is good ‘neither for living nor for dying’. I proposed a project that can bring prosperity and certainty in tomorrow. My program was discussed and this is already a very good thing,” stated the Liberal, quoted by IPN.

The people think the President will come and raise salaries and pensions, but will convince themselves that this cannot as his powers are reduced, said the politician, adding that the union with Romania is inevitable.

Mihai Ghimpu has won over 2% of the vote, according to the preliminary results, following the counting of 60% of the vote.
