The leader of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu reiterated the party’s intention to form a pro-European coalition after the elections. He promised that the PDM will deal with the current problems of the people and will not focus only on the long-term objective – the European integration, and called on the people to take part in the November 30 parliamentary elections, IPN reports.

“The Democratic Party is for creating of a pro-European coalition that would continue Moldova’s European course. Our country needs yet more than this. It needs a good, efficient and competent government, while the people of Moldova need well-paid jobs, good roads, cheaper gas, support for the small business and agriculture, chances for the young people, protection for women and children and many other concrete things. The people need these things now and here and we have the best solutions to help them. We ensure the development of the economy and the country’s European modernization and simultaneously do the things needed by the people today,” stated Marian Lupu.

Asked by the journalists about his position on the Appeals Court’s decision to remove the Party “Patria” from the electoral race, Marian Lupu expressed his regret at the fact that some of the voters will be deprived of their voting option as a result of this decision, but underlined that the final decision that the Supreme Court of Justice will pass must be objective and unbiased. He noted that polls show the votes of those who supported the Party “Patria” would go mainly to the Party of Communists and the Party of Socialists.

In the same news conference, Marian Lupu denied the information disseminated by Jurnal TV, according to which he was involved in a trial over assets of €70 million in the Netherlands, saying he will sue the TV channel.
