A 41-year-old man from Criuleni was sentenced to eight years and ten months in jail for attempting to murder his female partner, with whom he has two children, and two drinking companions, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the man got angry on the two men as he considered they were flirting with his partner and attacked the three with a knife. The woman hit him with a cudgel on the head. It happened in Mărdăreuca village of Criuleni district this August.

Earlier the man was tried for domestic violence. He admitted his guilt. He was ordered to pay over 11,000 lei court costs.
