The police arrested a man aged 43 for murdering a person seven years ago. He committed the crime in the summer of 2006 together with a 44-year-old woman who is being looked for. Both of the culprits are from Rascani district, IPN reports.

According to the police, none of the victim’s relatives informed about the disappearance of the man. His body was found by the police near Pociumbeni, Rascani, on the bank of the Ciucur River on October 4.

The medical examiners established that the man died as a result of severe blows.

The suspect was arrested at the Otaci border crossing point, when he wanted to leave Moldova. The police consider they accumulated enough evidence to prove the man’s guilt.

The culprits face up to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment for murder.
